Why You Need To Switch Perfumes Often

Perfumes are ‘worn’ for a reason. Just like you wear a definite style of clothes daily or you alternate styles daily. The same applies to your perfumes.

Why you need to change what you wear

You can choose to wear a signature scent daily or choose to vary your perfume collection. A signature scent is likely to easily remind others of you and become your identifier. Comfortable but boring. The boredom could even be for yourself. Smells are easily attached to memories of first encounter or use. So, if you’re looking for some mood boost, you may want to try a new perfume that smells good. It helps you create new memories too.

Perfumes are mood boosters.

It is a known fact that different fragrances are suitable for different moods, occasions, events, weather, outfit, and so on. Can your signature scent fit into every mood, weather, event, and outfit? Rarely possible. That’s another reason for you to switch fragrances.

In addition, the same scent every day may not get you compliments from the usual people you meet daily. Also, you may get so accustomed to the scent that you become unable to smell it unless it is excessively applied. The best way to counter this is by switching perfumes now and then.

When you switch perfumes, you will easily smell each changed perfume and others will notice your perfume too.

Switching or alternating also saves you the trouble of being over-accustomed to a particular perfume. That your everyday perfume could one day be discontinued or hard to find for a while. If you alternate between a few perfumes, you will be confident enough to use your other perfumes while waiting to get that scarce perfume or a substitute if it was discontinued.

Tips for building your perfume wardrobe.

1. Always test out the perfumes before you buy them. make sure they react nicely with the chemistry of your skin. Before you wear them, also make sure that they feel appropriate for the weather or seasons

2. You don’t have to buy an assortment of hundreds of perfumes just because you want to switch it up once in a while. A few good quality perfumes that smell nice on you are enough. A good guide is to have perfumes for seasons: summer, winter, autumn, and spring.

This is especially cool because many scents are not even suitable for all seasons. For example, citrus scents hardly do well in the winter, they are better reserved for summer. Floral scents just so easily blend in spring.

To save on expenses, you can get sample-sized perfumes if you want to have a lot of variety to choose from. Some stores also sell perfume boxes which have an assortment of various scents in one box. Another issue is the time of the day that you want to wear a scent. As a general rule, lighter scents are perfect for the daytime while bolder scents do better at night.

3. Another approach is to have one regular perfume. This will most likely be your signature scent that you’ll wear to the office, gym, and other regular places that you go as a routine. Then, you can have another perfume for occasions like date nights and parties.
