Why Perfume Oils Are Better Than Other Perfume Concentrations

Concentrated perfume oils are naturally extracted from natural ingredients. The base of perfume oils are usually neutral and odorless carrier oils like fractionated coconut or jojoba oil.

The major difference between a perfume oil and a regular perfume spray is the absence of alcohol in perfume oils. This means that the perfume is steeped in an essential oil and it is in its most original form. The absence of additives makes perfume oils more concentrated than any other type of perfume sprays.

There are advantages that come with using perfume oils and we discuss some of them.

1. Less irritation

The absence of alcohol in perfume oils makes them less likely to irritate your skin. This also makes inhaling them less dangerous when compared to inhaling perfumes with high contents of alcohol. Alcohol could choke a lot of people and trigger their allergies.

2. Perfume oils last longer

The average perfume oil could last 6 to 15 hours on your skin. This is due to the absence of alcohol. Alcohol causes faster evaporation while oil binds better with the oils on your skin to produce a more long-lasting scent. An alcohol based perfume lasts only 1 to 3 hours on average.

3. Perfume oils are gentle on your skin

Alcohol could dry out your skin and cause allergic reactions for a lot of people. Perfume oils are in a moisturizing medium, so, they cannot dry out your skin. This makes them tolerable for all skin types.

4. Less likely to cause allergies

The fillers and chemical fixatives in alcohol based perfumes may irritate some people. However, oil perfumes use natural fixatives like benzoin resin, myrrh and olibanum. These are less likely to irritate users or cause allergic reactions, mimic hormones or irritate skin.

5. Less intrusive

Oil perfumes are less likely to leave a perfume trail. Rather, they stay only on your skin or wherever you apply them. They don’t dominate the room even after you leave the room. This makes them a better option if you don’t want to trigger other people’s sensitivities with your perfume.

6. Affordability

Perfume oils are usually made in a variety of sizes. Usually, the bottles are smaller and travel friendly. This also translates to ease of production for manufacturers.

7. Convenience

The small travel size packages that perfume oils come in makes them easy to carry around. It also reduces the probability of perfume-related accidents. The roll on applicators that most perfume oil bottles have helps prevent accidental leakages.

8. Easier to create a signature scent

With perfume oils, layering is much easier. Perfume oils cling to your skin. So, they are one of the best first steps to start layering perfumes. If you layer properly and you know what suits you, you’ll have a great adventure creating your signature scent with layered perfumes.

If you like to experiment, it is quite easy to mix perfume oils to create your own unique fragrance.
