Do These 10 Things To Make Your Home Smell Good

Fragrance is one of the first things that people notice about your home. Although they say that the actual smell of cleanliness is no smell, it is nearly impossible for your house to smell like nothing. So, a good smell is your best bet.

Today, we bring you a few tips to make your home smell good all the time.

1. Clean your drains

Freeze lemon and orange peels in water by putting them in ice cube trays, then, pour the mixture in your sinks.

The ice cubes are a natural abrasive that will clean the drains while the lemons and oranges will deodorize them.

2. Sprinkle baking soda on your carpets when cleaning

Do this in high-traffic areas like your sitting room and hallways. Leave the baking soda on the carpet for fifteen minutes before vacuuming. The baking soda will deodorize the carpets.

3. Use vinegar for cleaning

Vinegar acts as a natural deodorizer and its sourness evaporates once you are done cleaning.

4. Use essential oils for vacuuming

Your carpet traps odors that could become unpleasant after a while. Fight the unpleasant smells by adding some essential oil into the vacuum bag.

5. Perfume your filters

Many people find that adding a few drops of their favorite essential oils to their air filters leaves the home smelling good for a very long time.

Perfume oils that do not smell excessively strong can be easily used in air filters. If you can stand a very sweet smell, add a few drops of vanilla extract to the filters.

6. Make a room freshening spray

If you don’t like commercial room freshening sprays, make your own spray by mixing your essential oils, perfume mists, water, and alcohol.

8. Use incense

Burning incense helps many people feel calm and experience a sense of healing. It also helps to make your high-traffic areas smell better and it’s satisfying to watch.

Just be sure you are not sensitive to the smell of burning incense before trying this.

9. Use diffusers

Perfume diffusers slowly release fragrances and keep the house smelling fresh all day. You decide what scent you want the diffuser to release. So, you can vary the scent of your home as you wish.

Depending on your preference, you can try reed diffusers or electric diffusers.

10. Use dryer sheets

Distribute them throughout your cabinets and drawers in your bedroom. It will leave all your stuff smelling fresh.

You can also place a few dryer sheets at the bottom of the garbage can and spray some baking soda on it before you add the trash bags. The sheets will absorb the leaks from the garbage. The leaks are what make the can smell offensive.
