13 Creative Ways To Reuse Empty Perfume Bottles

An empty perfume bottle marks the end of a relationship with a perfume you cherished. The fragrance may not be the only thing you loved about that perfume; the packaging or bottle may be one of the things you loved about it. Some perfume bottles can be so exquisitely designed as a form of artistic expression that you appreciate.

Here are a few ways to keep those bottles around and functioning without feeling like you are hoarding trash.

  1. Sell them: if the bottles are rare, beautiful or artistic and made by an iconic brand; you can consider selling them to collectors. You’d be surprised how many people would love to buy such collections.

2. If the bottles can be easily opened and closed without any resulting damage; you can use them as decanters for your alcohol. You’ll love the sophisticated feel of pouring your favorite whiskey from that exotic looking bottle.

3. Make a chandelier: if you don’t know much about electrical work, you could get someone to do this. All you have to do is insert the light bulbs in the transparent perfume bottles. For symmetry, you can use your collection of identical bottles. The colours could be the same or different, depending in your taste. If you love to experiment, you can use different bottles, just make sure that they are all compatible for the chandelier. You will love the beautiful patterns of light from your unique chandelier.

4. You can use an old perfume bottle as a lamp or a light feature. You can do this by putting the light bulb inside the bottle and putting a lamp shade on top of it.

5. You can use medium and large perfume bottles as flower vases. Simply keep open and pour in some water before putting the flowers in.

6. Fancy small perfume bottles can be used as scented candle holders. Both small and medium bottles can be used to hold other scented products like oil burners or reed diffusers.

7. You can decorate each bottle and use them as a centerpiece. Bottles could be decorated by painting and gluing beads or feathers or stones or pearls or lace. If you love fancy stuff in your corners, you could even fill the bottle with glitters or colorful beads or pieces and leave them on your tables or shelves.

8. You can put home fragrances in them and leave them open in your drawers, cupboards or closets so the scent diffuses slowly through your home.

9. You can decorate your Christmas gifts with them or use them to hold other gifts on the Christmas tree.

10. Bottles from 250mls and above can be used as cute mini planters.

11. You can use a perfume bottle as a fancy holder for your non-tarnish jewelry, especially rings and pearls.

12. You can use your old perfume bottles and holders for your shampoos or dish washing liquids. You need to be very careful with this one as the bottles could break easily and pose a hazard.

13. Lastly, you can make your own DIY fragrance and store them in your old perfume bottles.
