Perfume samples have been the go-to for people to check if they love a perfume enough to get the actual big bottle of that perfume. If you love the sample, you’d probably go back for the main stuff.
For many people who cannot walk into stores that offer perfume testing, buying samples is how they save money to check out a perfume with only a token.
However, have you considered alternative uses for your cute small perfume samples? We discuss a few ways that samples can serve you due to their small size and the varieties you may have.
1. DIY Scented body lotion
Add a few drops or spritzes of your perfume sample to your lotion and apply it to your skin after a shower.
2. Scented baths
Run your bath water and add a few drops of perfume to the bath water until you are satisfied with the concentration of the scent.
3. Scenting your underwear
No, this won’t give you any adverse reactions because you won’t apply it directly on the underwear. Just spritz some of the perfume into your underwear drawer liner and store your underwear as usual.
In the alternative, store a perfume sachet in the same space that you store your underwear.
4. Make your shoes smell good
Do this by storing a perfume sample in your shoes. The perfume will do its thing by wafting softly into the shoes and smelling great.
5. Perfume your hair
Apply enough perfume on your hair accessories like scrunchies and bands. Also, spritz some perfume on your hair brush. This will prevent the negative effects of alcohol on your hair if the perfume contains alcohol.
6. DIY Air freshener
You can use the samples by simply spraying them into the air or putting some drops of the perfume in a diffuser.
7. Scented cards
Do not spray your cards directly as that could stain the cards. Instead, apply some perfume on a cotton ball and drop that ball in a plastic bag alongside your cards. Leave the bag for up to four hours and your cards will come out smelling heavenly.
8. Car seat air fresheners
Most car fresheners smell like industrial soap and they tend to smell a bit stale. Using a perfume sample inside your car by placing it under your car seat will be a fresher smelling alternative.
9. Create a light bulb diffuser
Add a few spritzes or drops of your perfume sample to a cold light bulb. When the bulb is turned on, it will slowly spread the fragrance all over the room.
10. DIY Carpet refreshers
Add some perfume from your tester to baking soda, then spray on your carpet. Wait for ten minutes before vacuuming the residue. The aroma of the fragrance will linger for a long time.
11. Upcycle empty sample bottles
Perfume samples are usually cute, small, and decorative. Depending on how easy it is to open a sample bottle, you can use it as a toiletry holder, put another perfume inside it when traveling, and store other oils in it.
You can even create decorative displays with your empty perfume bottle.
